Open Enrollment into the Oostburg School District

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your student at Oostburg School District! Whether your student lives in the next county or next country, you have the ability to apply to open enroll your student into one of our schools.

Here are a few things you need to know:

  • You may open enroll during the "regular season" or outside that timeframe using the alternative application

  • Generally, parents are responsible to provide transportation

  • Applications can be denied by either the resident or non-resident district but only for reasons specified in state law.

The open enrollment application period for the 2024-2025 school year is February 5, 2024 - April 30, 2024. The application period closes at 4:00 pm on April 30, 2024, and late applications will not be accepted for any reason. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction encourages families to apply online by following the link below. A step-by-step guide to the online application is also included.  

Important Dates:

April 30: Application period ends at 4:00 pm (late application not accepted for any reason)

June 7: Nonresident district must notify parents of approval/denial. The notice must be in writing and will be sent via email.

June 14: Resident district must notify parents if the application is denied. The notice must be in writing (may be sent via email) and must include the reason for denial.

June 28: Parents must notify the nonresident district of their intent to attend. If notice is not provided, the nonresident district may determine the pupil cannot attend.
