OHS Academic & Career Planning Implementation (PI-26)

What is ACP?
Academic and Career Planning (ACP) is a process to help students in grades 6–12 plan for life after high school. It’s student-driven but supported by teachers, counselors, and families.

The 4 Parts of ACP

  1. Know Yourself

    • Discover your strengths, interests, and values.

    • Learn how your personality connects to careers.

  2. Explore Options

    • Research career clusters and pathways.

    • Explore colleges, apprenticeships, military, and workforce opportunities.

    • Understand job market trends in Wisconsin.

  3. Plan for Your Future

    • Set short- and long-term goals.

    • Choose classes, activities, and experiences that fit your career interests.

    • Build a personal ACP portfolio (in Xello our school’s platform).

  4. Go & Take Action

    • Apply for colleges, apprenticeships, or jobs.

    • Create a financial plan (scholarships, FAFSA, budgeting).

    • Transition smoothly from high school to your next step.

Why ACP Matters

  • Helps you make informed decisions about classes, activities, and your future.

  • Connects schoolwork to real-world opportunities.

  • Ensures you graduate with a plan for what comes next.

Remember: ACP is not a one-time project. It’s an ongoing process of learning about yourself, exploring careers, and preparing for life after high school.

“All students learning at high levels so they can become positive and productive contributors to society and the world.”
