We want to take a moment to invite everyone in our school community to our Celebration of the Arts event on Saturday, March 18th at 7:00 pm in the Bruce Krier Performing Arts Center. This event, which is a collaborative effort between the Oostburg Community Education Foundation (OCEF) and Oostburg School District, will include both vocal and instrumental musical performances by students of all ages, forensics performances, a scene from the Spring play, and several selections that will specifically highlight the grand piano we are working to purchase with OCEF's support. Tickets for the event are $15 with all funds going to the project to purchase a Yamaha S6X PE 7 foot grand piano. (Tickets can be purchased at the HS office or Mentink's Market.) The piano will cost just under $75,000, so we are hoping the Celebration of the Arts event may also inspire additional support and generosity from community members toward this purchase. As our performing arts programs continue to grow and flourish, we believe the addition of a quality piano will be a worthwhile enhancement to the great work being done by the students in our community. We plan on putting the new piano to significant use, featuring it in concerts, recitals, our musicals, and many other events in our school and community.
