👣 A Walk Through Time in Oostburg! 🏛️
Our 3rd graders recently took a fascinating walking tour of Oostburg’s Center Avenue, from 9th Street to 10th Street, comparing the past with the present! 🔍✨
📸 In the first pair of photos, students stood where Judi’s Restaurant is today, pointing up to where the red and white steeple of the old Christian Reformed Church once stood. ⛪️
📸 In the second pair, students explored the corner of Center Ave and 10th Street, where the Oostburg State Bank once stood. 💰🏦
📸 And in the third, they sat between the train tracks and the Pizza Ranch parking lot, where the train depot once welcomed travelers to town. 🚂🍕
Now it’s their turn! Each student has been tasked with giving their families a historical walking tour of downtown Oostburg within the next month. 🗺️👨👩👧👦 We can’t wait to see history come alive through their eyes!

This past Saturday, the Oostburg Cross Country team competed in the conference meet at Cedar Grove. Congratulations to Matthew Wilterdink who earned a first place finish and first team award, Kelsie Dekker who also earned first team award, and Maddy Lee and Quinn Mentink who both earned second team awards. Way to represent Oostburg! We are so proud of you!

What an awesome event! For the elementary fun run this year, the entire community came together to support Oostburg Elementary School. Mrs. Stultz and the 3rd grade team ran a t-shirt design contest for the kids with the theme of "Choose Kind." Fiona and Lucca created the winning design that you see here. We had a generous community member who is in support of the Choose Kind theme offered to pay for shirts for the entire staff and student body at OES. We are now offering that shirt to the public! It's Game Day...make that...Meet Day! Today the cross country team will be running at Cedar Grove-Belgium High School for their conference meet! These kids have put in a ton of work this season and logged over 200 miles EACH between races and practices. Come out to cheer them on as they look to advance into the post season!
It's a big day for your Oostburg Dutchmen as they take on the Hilbert Wolves at home. It is also senior and parent night. Remember October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so wear your pink to match the Dutchmen. If the Dutchmen take this victory, it gives them a chance to receive a home playoff game!!! Be there and be loud!

Today is the day to show your support for the Rogers and Stephens families! Come to the soccer game at 10AM vs. North and wear purple to show your support in the families battle with cancer. All proceeds from the Brat Fry and Bake Sale fundraiser will be split between the families so bring your appetite as well!
Happy Homecoming! Tonight is the night! Come down to Kohlbeck Field for a great game. The band will be playing and dance will be performing at halftime.
